The SUV makers took care of a more elegant decor and provided more space for passengers, especially behind the front seats. The practicality has also increased, including due to the sliding back sofa, which can change its longitudinal position in the 17 cm range. The stability control system (VSA) was also introduced and the brake system was upgraded. The car behaves very well and, despite the high body, remains stable in almost any situation. The all-wheel drive system is arranged in such a way that the front axle is the leading all the time. Only when the front wheels slip does the two hydraulic pumps and the multi-plate clutch connect the rear axle.

Engines

The range of engines of the Japanese crossover is rather scant. In Europe, only a 2-liter gasoline unit with a capacity of 150 hp was available. For other markets, a 2.4-liter gasoline atmospheric engine was also offered, developing 160 hp. In 2004, the range appeared modern turbodiesel 2.2 CDTi (140 hp) with a high-performance system of injection Common Rail. All engines gave the SUV good dynamics. Modifications of the SUV have similar characteristics, but the diesel engine is more economical. Unfortunately, it's more expensive to maintain.

Exploitation

Malfunctions in Honda SR-B are rare. You may encounter noisy work on the rear axle, but it is often the old transmission fluid that is to blame. It is enough to simply wash the gearbox and replace the liquid. But repairs may be needed. Sometimes moisture penetrates into the node, causing corrosion of elements.

Sometimes they deliver problems of the cross of the driveshaft. They change only in the collection with the cardan, which significantly increases the cost of repairs.

The chassis works perfectly. Even on Russian roads of poor quality, suspension elements work for 100,000 km or more. It all depends on the intensity and conditions in which the vehicle is operated. The most quickly consumed elements are the racks and sleeves of the stabilizer.

The body of the second generation Honda CR-V is well protected from corrosion. Rust is rare even for the first generation crossover. Among the minor shortcomings is worth noting the jamming window lock in the trunk lid.
