The assembly of the machine was carried out at the Kaliningrad "Autotor". The car was manufactured in Slovakia for the European market.

Over the appearance of Sid worked the notorious ex-designer Audi Peter Schreier. Despite a certain sporty style, the silhouette retained almost a straight roof line, which had a positive effect on the space above the rear passengers' heads.

Kia Ceed is one of the most spacious in the segment. Even with the front seats as far back as possible, there is enough space in the second row for riders' knees. There is no need to complain about the width of the cabin.

However, with space everything is fine not only in the front and back row, but also in the trunk. Its volume is 380 liters and the shapes are perfect. The wagon thanks to the increased rear overhang has a cofre capacity of 528 liters.

In 2015, a restyling was carried out, but no major changes have occurred. The designers focused on the details. Outside, the radiator grille was slightly narrowed, and the lights were updated from behind. The artist’s hand also touched the bumpers. In the cabin added chrome on the details of the front panel: dashboard and air duct deflectors. The updated version appeared on our market in October 2015.

Engines

In the asset of the model a wide variety of gasoline engines and two turbodiesels. But in Russia officially supplied cars only with gasoline units of 1.4 and 1.6 liters (100 and 129 hp, respectively). Three-door versions of the GT (Ceed and Pro_Ceed GT) received a gasoline turbo engine 1. 6 T-GDI return 204 hp. The engine from the Gamma family is equipped with direct fuel injection. Since the new converter is very expensive owners simply remove it, put “cheats” on oxygen sensors and refish the ECU.

Transmissions

The basic versions were equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission. An alternative to the 1.6 was a 6-speed automatic.

After restyling, a seven-speed gearbox with dual clutch DCT appeared in the asset of Kia Ceed. It was in tandem with a 1.4-liter turbo engine and a 1.6 CRDi turbodiesel. The 1.6 GDI was combined with a 6-speed robot. Both robots were developed in collaboration with LUK.

In cars with manual transmission can give flow of the odule of the primary shaft. In this case, the transmission fluid falls on the clutch, which leads to a slip of the clutch.
