Kia Cerato 2

The second generation Kia Cerato went on sale in South Korea in late September 2008. In Russia, the first copies were officially available in March 2009. The name of the car Kia Cerato was retained for Russia, Latin America and South Africa. In South Korea and the United States, the second generation was named Kia Forte. The model was not exported to Europe, leaving the field for the more technically advanced Kia Cee’d. A two-door version of the Cerato Koup was introduced in 2010. Engines

In the asset of the "official" Serato two gasoline atmospheric four-cylinder engines with a working volume of 1.6 liters / 126 hp, and 2.0 l / 150 hp. Some of them led to a “meeting” of pistons with valves. The culprit of the incident is a chain tensioner. Similar incidents, but in greater numbers, occurred on Kia Sid with the engine of the same name at a run of 40-90 thousand km. The cost of a new tensioner is about 1-1.5 thousand rubles, the guide and sedative is about 500-100 rubles, and the fresh chain is about 1.5-2 thousand rubles. It happened that after the replacement of the "squeezed", the noise soon returned again. Presumably, the problem is not only in the squeeze bearing, but in the combination of the “fork-bearing”. This was indirectly evidenced by the fact that the extraneous sound left after processing the penetrating lubrication of the space under the anther of the fork.

In other words, more often the clutch had to be changed after 130-180 thousand km. The new set is available for 6000 rubles.

With the "automatic" problems are not noted, except for the rupture of the hose extraction of automatic transmission oil for cooling. The problem concerned 6-speed automatic transmissions installed before March 2011. The defect manifested itself after 30-50 thousand km and was caused by a defect in the production of hoses - a puncture supplier.

Walking

The Cerato 2 suspension could be knocked after 15-20 thousand km. The most common reason is a plastic anther walking along the shock absorber rod. Initially, the anther sat still, but after 15-40 thousand km, it broke off and began to hang around, buckling on irregularities. The dust was glued into place, tightening with clamps or even screwing screws. The racks and bushings of the front stabilizer run more than 40-60 thousand km. Ball supports (from 600 rubles) and Silentblocks (300-600 rubles) of the front levers usually serve more than 100,000 km, and the Silentblocks of the rear beam (from 700 rubles) reach up to 150,000 km. The landing bearings have to be updated after 100-150 thousand km. On the front axle, the bearing itself changes (1300-1700 rubles), and on the rear - the hub in the collection (5000 rubles for an analogue). On many cars there is a right-hand drive backlash, which causes rattling on irregularities. Initially, dealers when contacting the service changed the drive in the collection under warranty, but later Kia sent out clarifications that this defect does not affect traffic safety, and the drive does not require replacement. After 80-100 thousand km there are cases of violation of the integrity of the anther of the external SRUS.

Body and salon

Painting of the body of Kia Cerato 2 is common for the modern automotive industry - thin and easily scratched. On instances older than 2-3 years have already encountered problems with chrome elements of the body finish, as well as swelling of paint: more often on the trunk lid; less often on the rear doors, rear wheel arches, windshield racks and roof. The headlights occasionally fog, and the glazing is sometimes covered with a web of small cracks. Most unscrupulous dealers refused to replace defective headlights, citing the use of too strong reactive agents during car washing. Common sources: door seals, plastic in the area of clocks and windshield ducts, front panel, ceiling plafond, driver's airbag and automatic transmission selector lining. The nicking steering wheel after 10-30 thousand km is another widespread phenomenon today, not bypassing the Cerato 2. Sometimes the owners of Kia Serato after rain or sinks found water on the doorsteps. Water got inside the door through a short glass seal, which was only 3 mm short before the access was completely blocked.

Other problems and malfunctions

There are also problems with electrical equipment. One of the common typical for Kia and Hyundai cars is the failure of the stop light switch (150-200 rubles). Some owners noted non-systemic launch problems. The reason is the poor contact of the immobilizer antenna. Dealers at confirmation of malfunction made replacement of the antenna of the immobilizer. After 50-80 thousand km, parking sensors began to “glue”, and later they refused. There have also been cases of failure of the electric drive of external mirrors. Closer to 200,000 km, the generator has to be repaired (brushes, bearing or voltage regulator wear out). The cost of bulkheads is about 5000 rubles.
