What other manufacturer has a wagon as stylish as Clubman? This is a real work of art, which got Mini back in 1960. What is unique about it? Two swing doors of the trunk instead of the usual 5th door opening upwards and only one rear side door - on the right. It opens against traffic and facilitates access to the second row of seats. The next-generation Clubman, which went on sale in 2015, already has two classic doors on each side. But that's a whole different story.

Compared to the standard Mini, the Clubman is 24 cm longer (the wheelbase is increased by 8 cm), which undoubtedly promises more practicality. Remarkably, the increase did not adversely affect handling.

Unfortunately, the basic Mini, in the spirit of the brand tradition, are equipped quite modestly. You will not find a computer or fog lights here.

Engines

Under the hood of the car were power units created in cooperation with the French concern PSA. Most of them are equipped with gasoline engines of 1.6 liters without supercharging (98, 120 and 122 hp). But more fully correspond to the nature of the turbocharged 1.6-liter engines (175, 185 and 211 hp). According to mechanics, both units in terms of reliability are far from ideal. The most common problem is the failure of the tensioner of the timing system chain. The defect mainly concerns cars produced before 2010. But in younger copies, the malfunction is still found, although less often.
